Story

One region.
One clay. YIXING, JIANGSU

Every teapot in this collection is made from zisha clay sourced in Yixing, Jiangsu—a clay inseparable from the region where it has been worked for centuries.

Zisha clay occurs in several natural varieties—zini, hongni, and duanni among them—each developing its own color, texture, and character in the kiln. For more than five centuries, Yixing potters have shaped this clay into teapots valued for their heat retention and distinctive unglazed surface, which develops a softer luster through use.
